Filming for Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 Resumes!

Finally some good news for a change! While it feels bittersweet, the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine are back doing what they do best. Filming for Season 8 is back on track, after the pandemic pushed production back. And while this is amazing news, it comes with a hint of sadness as it is the last season of the comedy series. Oh no!

Filming has officially begun after a long break last year. Episodes for Season 8 are currently being filmed, with just 10 episodes to end the last season of the sitcom. Just two months ago, we all learned the terrible news that the comedy series had been canceled, with one last season to come by the end of 2021. And with the last season consisting of only 10 episodes, we don’t know what to do with ourselves!

The news was shared by Melissa Fumero, showing millions of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans that the NBC sitcom is back in business. The show shows herself with Terry Crews and Andre Braugher, who all collectively play Amy, Terry and Captain Holt.

Fumero wrote:

“Ba ba ba back in the Nine Nine!!!! esterday, I was so excited to be back at work I forgot to take a pic to commemorate the occasion so here’s from Day 2.#Brooklyn99”.

Fans of the show are exciting to see how the cop comedy ends after 8 years on air. The last season could be very different compared to previous seasons we have witnessed. 2020 was a memorable year for a number of reasons. The protests that ensued after George Floyd’s death saw the sitcom come under the spotlight, with many believing the show should depict a more realistic view of the police force. Andy Samberg has suggested that new episodes will be more honest with current events. He recently stated the characters will be ‘forced to look in the mirror and see who they’re complicit with’. While we are excited for the last season to drop, we are so sad to see it end! Nine-nine!
