‘Mean Girls’ Star Tim Meadows: ‘F*** RFK Jr.’

Tim Meadows teased his weekend appearances in the Mile High City with a simple promise.

“It’s me talking about me. A lot of people know me from doing movies and TV shows and characters,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum told the host of “Ryan Schuiling,” heard on Denver’s 630 KHOW earlier in the week.

“It’s an introduction to who I am, basically,” said Meadows, most recently seen in the “Mean Girls” musical do-over. “I talk to the audience. They get to know me. I get to know them. We all come out better people for it and nobody gets hurt.”

Fact check: True.

Meadows did plenty of crowd work during Saturday’s late show at Comedy Works in Greenwood Village, Colo. The affable stand-up got triggered by a Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. fan during a political moment late in the set.

Up until then, Meadows proved consistently witty and wise, sharing warm anecdotes about divorce, fatherhood and his love of weed.

The RFK Jr. praise proved too much.

Meadows raged against the politician challenging the two-party system in the Fall, saying he claimed the COVID-19 virus was a hoax. The Kennedy scion has been arguably the most prominent vaccine critic but hasn’t doubted the virus’ existence.

Meadows shared how he worked with RFK Jr.’s wife, Cheryl Hines, on the show “Son of Zorn” and regularly bumped into the couple. He said RFK Jr. seemed like a nice fellow, but once he heard his political views he had a change of heart.

He said he wouldn’t even pose for a photograph with him.

“F*** RFK Jr.,” Meadows said.

The rattled comic eventually calmed down, apologizing for the unfortunate segue. He felt guilty for succumbing to the culture’s divisive nature. That wasn’t his plan.

He bragged how he spends time with people from all walks of life and sexual preferences, and that we should focus on what unites us.

Said list didn’t include Christians or conservatives.

The audience never left his side, even when the set went sideways. They laughed throughout the performance and were more than willing to “forgive” the comic star for his stand-up detour. He admitted the segue took him away from his planned closure which was to include Donald Trump.

Previously, he had dinged the former president and joked about President Joe Biden’s frail physical state.

Comedy Works puts all smart phones in sealed packages so no video can be taken during shows.

Editor’s Note: It’s a brutal time to be an independent journalist, but it’s never been more necessary given the sorry state of the corporate press. If you’re enjoying Hollywood in Toto, I hope you’ll consider leaving a coin (or two) in our Tip Jar.
