The Democratic National Convention featured the expected crush of progressive stars.
Think Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kerry Washington, John Legend and more. Beyonce was a calculated no-show, but one celebrity’s appearance should have turned some heads.
Kenan Thompson isn’t as big a “name” as Queen Bey, but his factually wobbly DNC sketch should have gotten more attention.
Why?

He’s the show’s longest-running cast member, and it’s not even close. He’s been a part of the ensemble since 2003. No other current player has his gravitas. He may be just 46 but he’s “SNL’s” elder statesman.
So what was he doing pushing Democratic talking points in front of the country? Shouldn’t Team “SNL” keep its cast members away from overtly partisan appearances?
Apparently not. And it’s the new normal.

Earlier this year we saw both Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert host DNC fundraisers for then-candidate President Joe Biden. Not only did they help fill Democratic coffers but they kept the nation’s biggest secret to themselves.
President Biden’s cognitive state is poor, which is why he was forced to hand the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kimmel even lied to his fans over the matter, pretending Biden’s shocking freeze-up as just another “cheap fake” moment.
The bigger issue is clear. Colbert, Kimmel and Thompson push Democratic talking points from their respective platforms. They hammer GOP targets relentlessly and all but ignore vulnerable Democrats.
That means you won’t hear a pointed barb aimed at VP Kamala Harris from now until Election Day. And likely much longer if Harris becomes the country’s first female president.
As for Thompson’s “skit” blasting Project 2025 even corporate media fact-checkers blew sizable holes in it. Plus, President Trump has repeatedly said he has no direct connection to Project 2025.
Other than that, it’s 100 percent accurate.
Clown nose on. Clown nose off. It’s propaganda 24/7, though.
