Michael Moore isn’t taking Donald Trump’s Election Day victory well.
That’s to be expected from the socialist who hasn’t directed a film since “Fahrenheit 11/9” fizzled in 2018.
Moore remains a fixture on the punditry circuit, including appearances on MSNBC.
He saves his best takes for his Substack page. His post-election musings are a doozy.
One reason some independent voters chose Trump, according to anecdotal surveys, was that they didn’t like how the corporate press lied about the former president. Even Bill Maher, an avowed Trump hater, recoiled at the press for lying about Trump’s Liz Cheney critique.
Others likely heard the chronic “Trump is Hitler” lament, looked back at Trump’s first term and realized he was the worst Hitler ever.
They voted accordingly.
Not Moore. He’s still pushing the same overheated rhetoric that turned “Fahrenheit 11/9” into a farce.
His Substack column describes Trump 2.0 in ways that suggest counseling may be in order.
There will be a national abortion ban. Preparations for the next pandemic will be non-existent and millions will die. (Thank you, Robert Kennedy Jr.) A Russian-American will be appointed to a top position to keep Putin informed. Media critical of Trump will be forced to shut down or back down. Many of our best thinkers, writers, artists, scientists and inventors will flee the country. Young girls will witness their mother’s struggles and learn to give up before they turn 18. Boys will be under a constant threat of being drafted and sent with guns to “protect” the border or to participate in militarized sweeps in cities across the country to apprehend Brown and Black people for permanent removal. And, of course, they are going to close schools and libraries and social services and anything that stands in the way of authoritarian rule.
It’s worth repeating that Trump served as president for four full years. None of Moore’s dystopian predictions came to pass then.
Not even close. Why would his second term be different?

The paragraph leans into the debunked Russian Collusion narrative, suggesting Team Trump will shutter media organizations critical of him and sweep up “brown and black people.”
This kind of rhetoric should get Moore banned from talking head showcases. He can’t be trusted to be a cool, calm arbiter of information.
Instead, it might make him more popular on the MSNBC circuit.
Heck, if “The View’s” Whoopi Goldberg can call supermarket owners “pigs,” suggest her million dollar salary isn’t enough to make ends meet, declare Trump will tear apart interracial marriages and cruelly malign a bakery shop under false pretenses, the corporate media has no moral guardrails.
Expect to see more of Moore over the next four years.
