‘She-Hulk’ Star Shames Celebrities for NOT Talking Politics

Ed Sheeran probably wishe he had never invited Macklemore on his current U.S. tour.

The British superstar’s career got upended after the rapper went the Full Mark Ruffalo as his opening act.

We know the drill at this point. We’ve heard it enough. But Sheeran is now under fire for failing to support Macklemore when venues demanded the rapper leave the tour.

Macklemore isn’t in trouble. It’s Sheeran facing the Left’s Cancel Culture wrath.

That’s one of many reasons why some stars avoid politics in toto. It’s messy. It invites controversy. And do we really need to hear every celebrity weigh in on every issue of the day?

And, most importantly, do they even know what they’re talking about? Israel is not committing genocide, for example.

Tell that to Tatiana Maslany.

The “Orphan Black” and “She-Hulk” alum shared her views on politically outspoken stars in a new podcast chat. She spoke with Medhi Hasan on the Zeteo podcast. Hasan is a far-Left journalist who once anchored his own MSNBC show.

The actress whose Disney+ show ran for one inglorious season, said it’s odd that she’s able to not just speak but have so many people care about what she has to share.

That, she continues, is a chance that cannot be squandered.

“I’m part of a system. I have to speak on it,” Maslany said. “To me, if artists are like mirrors to the world, to society, we have to name things, whether it’s emotionally mirroring to people the human experience, or it’s speaking out, or it’s naming something. It’s such an important, intrinsic part of our job.”

Hasan, wearing a Save Gaza T-shirt, glumly nods along before pressing Maslany about actors who don’t speak out. He specifically mentioned Tom Selleck. The TV superstar has spent decades entertaining the public, but he doesn’t bludgeon them with his political views.

Rosie O’Donnell once lectured him about his personal, pro-Second Amendment beliefs. Otherwise, he sticks to the Hollywood scripts he’s been graciously given.

The far-Left host also referenced NBA great Michael Jordan’s famous quote about Republicans buying sneakers.

Not good enough, Maslany says.

“All of it is political. Like, everything is political. All entertainment is political because it has a viewpoint and it has a perspective, it has a visual representation of the world we live in, or the kinds of things that are funny or acceptable,” she said.

Even “Barney and Friends?”

“There’s no disconnect in my mind, and to me those are two very rich men who stand to lose a lot if they stand up for something,” she said. 

“Will I have fewer opportunities to make money,” Hasan said of the mindset behind folks such as Jordan or Selleck, ignoring the unbridled joy both men have given to the public with their work.

And, to be fair, Maslany once twerked with Megan Thee Stallion.

“It’s such a bizarre mentality. It’s so cowardly,” Maslany said.

What does Maslany miss about the conversation? Her industry does more than shame artists who don’t agree with her far-Left world view. It punishes them, an unofficial Blacklist that has hampered Hollywood for decades.

If only Maslany would use her microphone time to denounce that speech-snuffing reality. Don’t hold your breath, though.
